Pre-Pre-Op Modified Liquid Diet Starting on 8/31Food- Liquids only for breakfast and lunch
- Allowable Beverages:
- Skim Milk
- Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed with skim milk
- Slimfast
- Water
- Coffee, tea (with skim milk and Splenda)
- Broth & soups
- Sugar-Free Koolaid
- Propel, Fruit H20
- Crystal Light
- Sugar-Free Jello
- Sugar-Free pudding
- Regular meals for dinner
- Alcohol allowed
- No carbonated soda or water
- Minimum of 64 ounces of plain water daily
- Daily prescriptions, multi-vitamin, supplements
Exercise- Walk 3-4 times per week (20 minute walks)
- Daily breathing exercises (AM/PM)
- Daily stretching (AM/PM)

- No alcohol allowed

Post-Op Clear Liquid Diet From 10/6 - 10/12Food- Clear liquids only

- Clear juices (apple, white grape)
- Sugar-Free Jello
- Sugar-Free Popcicles

Post-Op Full Liquid Diet From 10/12 - 10/14Food- Full liquids
- Allowable Beverages:
- Beverages from the clear liquid diet
- Cream of Wheat/Cream of Rice
- Malt-O-Meal
- Yogurt
- Cream-based soup
Exercise- Walk 4-5 times per day (10 minute walks)
- Daily breathing exercises (AM/PM)
- Daily stretching (AM/PM)

- 8 AM - 8 oz. water (2 oz. every 15 minutes)

Post-Op Pureed Diet From 10/16 - 11/5Food- Pureed foods

- Beverages from the clear & full liquid diet
- Fat Free refried beans
- Applesauce
- Baby food meats/veggies/fruit (Stage 2)
- Home pureed chicken (mixed with FF gravy), overcooked veggies
Exercise- Walk 2-3 times per day (15-20 minute walks)
- Daily breathing exercises (AM/PM)
- Daily stretching (AM/PM)

- 7 PM - 8 oz. water
- 8:30 PM - 8 oz. skim milk
- 9:30 PM - 8 oz. water
Post-Op Mashed Foods Diet From 11/5 - 12/4Food- Mashed foods
- Allowable Food & Beverages:
- Beverages from the clear & full liquid diet
- Foods from the pureed diet
- Moist meat (turkey, chicken, fish, shellfish) mixed with FF gravy or mayo
- Eggs
- Chili
- Beans
- Tofu
- Oatmeal
- Cheese
- Steamed veggies
Eating Tips- 3 meals of 1/4 cup of food per meal eating protein first
- 3 cups of milk per day
- Avoid carbs
- Minimum of 5 servings of 8 oz. water per day

- Cottage cheese
- Saltines
- Toast
- Deli meats
- Tender fruits (strained berries, peaches, pears, plums)
Exercise- Walk 1-2 times per day (20-30 minute walks)

- Daily stretching (AM/PM)
